Ofcom makes two appointments to content board
UK regulator Ofcom has made two new appointments to its content board.
The media and telecoms watchdog has named Monisha Shah and Jonathan Baker to the board, which provides editorial and content advice and is made up of people who have worked for UK broadcasters including the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, S4C and Sky.
Both Shah and Baker will serve three-year terms, ending on September 30 2020.
Shah is currently chair of Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance, a non-executive director of Imagen, a media management technology company, and an Independent director of publishing company Next Mediaworks. She worked at BBC Worldwide for 10 years until 2010.
Baker is currently the founding Professor of Journalism at the University of Essex. He was previously editor of the BBC’s main flagship evening news programme and also as BBC World news editor, deputy head of newsgathering and as head of the College of Journalism, responsible for training BBC journalists.
