Vivendi taps Streamroot for OTT TV

The Vivendi office is seen in Paris on Wednesday, May 17, 2006.Vivendi has tapped OTT TV specialist Streamroot to provide technology to deliver its streaming video services.

Streamroot is providing its Streamroot DNA platform to help improve quality of experience and cut operating cost across group companies, the company said. The platform employs what Streamroot describes as a distributed and multi-source approach to content delivery.

Vivendi distributes a range of streaming video from Canal+ and Dailymotion as well as streaming music from Universal Music and games via Gameloft. The Streamroot technology will be used to deliver streaming video-on-demand, live sports and linear TV channels.
