Freesat launches new WiFi-enabled Humax box

UK free-to-view satellite platform Freesat has launched a new WiFi enabled set-top supplied by core supplier Humax.

The Humax HB-1100S smart TV box includes access to the Freetime catch-up and on-demand services including BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, All4, Demand 5, Curzon Movies and Netflix. The new box will be available in retail stores as of mid-April.

The box also includes access to the Humax TV portal, allowing its users to cast photos and other personal media from network connected devices to the TV.

In February, Freesat updated its TV guide genre list, introducing international and faith categories. The new guid features five genre categories: all channels; entertainment; HD; news and sport; movies; music; children; international; faith; shopping; adult; gaming and dating; on-demand; regional; and radio.
