YouTube to promote talent with ‘On The Rise’ section

YouTube is adding a new ‘On The Rise’ section of its trending tab in the US in an effort to highlight and promote up-and-coming content creators and music artists.

Each week, two creators and two artists will be highlighted and featured for a full day on YouTube’s trending section with the badges ‘Creator on the Rise’ or ‘Artist on the Rise’.

Creators or artists with more than 1,000 subscribers will be eligible to be picked, and will be selected based on a number of factors including view count, watch time and subscriber growth.

“With more than 1,000 creators crossing the 1,000 subscriber threshold every single day, new talent is constantly emerging. We want to celebrate these up-and-coming creators and artists and help them build a bigger audience,” said YouTube product marketing manager, Jon Youshaei.
