Google adds Home voice support for Netflix
Google has added Netflix support to its Google Home voice-activated speaker, allowing viewers to use voice commands to watch Netflix programmes on their TV.
When Google Home is paired with a Chromecast device, users can now stream any movie or TV series from Netflix to the TV, using commands like: “Ok Google, play Stranger Things from Netflix on my TV”.
Netflix linking in the Google Home app is available now for iOS and is rolling out to Android this week. Similar support for voice-controlled viewing of YouTube videos is already available.
Separately Google said that as part of a holiday-season promotion it would offer six months free access to its US subscription service YouTube Red for users that buy a Google Home device before December 31, 2016.
