Melodie TV debuts on German cable with Tele Columbus

Austrian schlager and folk music channel Melodie TV is launching on German cable operator Tele Columbus’s platform, including the networks of recently acquired Primacom and Pepcom.

The deal marks the German cable debut of the channel, which has hitherto only been available to German viewers via satellite. The channel will be available on the operator’s digital tier.

Melodie TV was launched in 2013 and features popular artists including the Alpenoberkrainer, the Amigos, the Egerländer, Sigrid & Marina, the Ladiner and Andy Borg.

Marcus Zoll, head of content at Tele Columbus, said that Melodie TV offered attractive content and that he was proud that Tele Columbus is the first and only German cable operator to offer the channel.
