WISI launches new compact headend product
German cable technology provider WISI has launched a new compact headend product.
The OH 16 SC is described by the company as a transmodulator capable of receiving 16 DVB-S/S2 transponders and converting them into 16 QAM TV channels.
The compact headend comes in a 1 RU 19” box with dimensions of 440mm x 44mm x 260mm, according to WISI, which says it can be installed in a rack or cabinet or directly on the wall. According to WISI, the OH 16 SC is best suited for small CATV networks, medium-sized residences, high rise buildings, recreational facilities, hospitals and hotels.
The device features four integrated input switching matrices which support input splitting, loop-through and operation with external 17 path multi-switches. With access to up to four different satellite positions, over a hundred HD/SD and radio channels can be received, transmodulated and distributed, according to WISI. Network integration is possible via DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol), which supports remote maintenance and programming via the web browser without any additional software, according to the company.
