TiVo ups CFO Chopra to interim CEO
TiVo has named chief financial officer (CFO) Naveen Chopra as interim CEO, taking from outgoing chief exec Tom Rogers at the end of the month.
Chopra, who has been at TiVo since 2003, is due to take up the interim role on January 30, as Rogers steps down to become non-executive chairman of the board.
At the same time TiVo announced that former Disney exec Wendy Markus Webb – an executive with more than 30 years of experience in treasury, investment banking, investor relations and capital markets – has joined the TiVo board and the board’s audit committee effective January 11, 2016.
Webb is CEO of advisory services firm Kestrel Corporate Advisors and she currently serves as independent director of ABM Industries, PetSmart Charities and 9 Spokes. She previously worked for 20 years at The Walt Disney Company, where she held various executive positions.
Commenting on Chopra’s promotion, Rogers said that the CFO was “the perfect choice to serve as interim CEO.”
“He and I have worked incredibly closely for the last 11 years, and he deserves tremendous credit for much of the progress TiVo has made in becoming the global leader in advanced television,” said Rogers.
The existing CEO announced in November that he would leave his position at the end of TiVo’s fiscal year, later this month.
