Sky to launch Star Wars-branded remote control and channel
Pay TV operator Sky is launching a line of Star Wars-branded remote controls along with a dedicated Star Wars channel as a promotional initiative timed to coincide with the cinema release of the film in the long-running sequence, Star Wars: The Force Awakens in the UK on December 17.
The Star Wars branded remote controls are available for 10 characters including: Darth Vader, Storm Troopers, R2-D2, C-3PO, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo.
Sky is airing a dedicated Star Wars channel to highlight the movie series. Sky Movies Star Wars will be available on channel 304 from December 11 until the January 3. The Star Wars movie collection will be available to watch on demand, via the Sky Go mobile TV offering. They will also be available via the Now TV lower-cost OTT service with the Sky Movies Month Pass.
“After the recent success of Sky Movies Harry Potter, we are excited to bring our next big activity – Sky Movies Star Wars to our customers in time for Christmas. Families can settle down over the festive period to watch one of the greatest movie franchises and one that has touched generations of fans whenever they want,” said Ian Lewis, director of Sky Movies.
