UK broadcaster Channel 4 has opened a new office in Manchester city centre in an effort to create a northern hub for its commercial, creative and industry partners.

Channel 4’s growing regional sales team in Manchester will be at the new premises, which will include up to 15 hot desks and meeting rooms for up to 60 people.

Channel 4’s production, creative, commercial and third party sales partners will also be able to use the space, as will the board and Channel 4s commissioning, creative diversity and All 4 Games teams.

“Channel 4 plays a significant role in stimulating the creative economy in the UK nations and regions. Over half of our original commissions were from outside of London last year and the regional sales team significantly contribute to our overall sales house revenues,” said Channel 4 CEO David Abraham.

“The new Manchester hub demonstrates Channel 4’s continued commitment to developing even stronger relationships with regional creative and media companies, and supporting smaller businesses as they grow.”
