Dutch Delta taps Teleste for DOCSIS 3.1 deployment
Dutch energy company Delta has tapped broadband cable technology provider Teleste to supply a DOCSIS 3.1-based optical broadband network.
The system has been ordered as a turnkey project, including product delivery, installation and commissioning of the network, according to Teleste. Delta provides cable based services including television, broadband internet and fixed line telephony. The value of the agreement is about €3.8 million. The completion of this upgrade is expected by April 2016.
Delta supplies energy, infrastructure and digital services and is owned by the municipalities of Zeeland, Noord-Brabant, Zuid-Holland and the provinces of Zeeland and Noord-Brabant. The company generates electricity, trades in energy and supplies gas, electricity and digital services to private and business clients in Zeeland and beyond.
