Vodafone Germany appoints Telekom Austria CEO as next boss

Vodafone Germany has announced plans to appoint Hannes Ametsreiter as its next CEO, following news of his departure from Telekom Austria earlier this week.
Vodafone said that the board will decide on the proposed hire at its next meeting on June 30, with Ametsreiter then expected to take up the Vodafone Germany post on October 1.
Ametsreiter will also appointed to the global Executive Committee of Vodafone Group, as part of his appointment.
The news comes in the same week that Ametsreiter said he has resigned his position as CEO of Telekom Austria in what the company described as a mutually agreed premature termination of his contract.
Ametsreiter, who has been chief executive of Telekom Austria since 2009, will leave his post as CEO of Telekom Austria AG and of A1 Telekom Austria AG – Telekom Austria’s converged fixed and mobile parent group – at the end of July.
