Ukraine Today launches in Germany, plans Russian-language version
Ukrainian international channel Ukraine Today has begun broadcasting in Germany on the Liberty Global-owned Unitymedia cable network.
The channel is currently available in English. In Germany it will broadcast 24-hours a day and will be included in Unitymedia’s basic package.
Ukraine Today is also working on the launch of a Russian-language version of the channel, designed to combat what it sees as anti-Ukrainian propaganda disseminated by Russian state-backed media.
“Germany is a strategically important country for us, and Ukraine is strategically important for Germany and for Europe as a whole. It’s very important for this audience to receive truthful and impartial information about our region. And the launch of the Russian version of the channel, which we have planned for the summer, will make our channel interesting not only for English-speaking residents of Europe, but also for Russian speakers,” said Tetiana Pushnova, Ukraine Today’s executive producer.
