TV Connect Awards winners line up at the Gherkin

Verizon’s director of product development Parissa Pandkhou, Swisscom, Sky Deutschland and Virgin Media were among those taking home the top prizes at last night’s TV Connect Awards ceremony, held in London’s iconic Gherkin building.

Pandkhou was presented with the award for Outstanding Contribution to the Industry at the event. Swisscom secured the Best Multiscreen TV Service prize for Swisscom TV 2.0, while Sky Deutschland took home Best Live Online TV service or Solution award for Sky Online.

Virgin Media meanwhile secured the prize in the Best TV Everywhere Service category.

Among the other award winners were Akamai Technologies, which took home the prize for Best Cloud or CDN Service Delivery for the Akamai Adaptive Media Delivery service, and Marvell Technology Group, which secured the award in the Best Component or Enabler category for the Armada 1500 PRO 4K.

Huawei took the Best Multiscreen TV Solution award for the Huawei Video Everywhere Solution, while Harmonic took the prize in the Best Network Technology for IPTV and OTT TV for its IP Video to All Screens Solution.

SeaChange International took the Best Service Delivery Platform for IP TV and OTT TV for its SeaChange Rave product, while the award for Best TV App went to Screenz for its Screenz Real Time Platform for Rising Star.

AirTies took the prize in the Best TV Consumer Device category for the Air4920, while the award for Best TV Experience Enhancement went to iFeelSmart for Andromeda.

Speaking at the ceremony, TV Connect events director Joanna Jones said: “The TV Connect Awards have grown hand-in-hand with the evolution of TV Connect, and the evolution of connected entertainment.”

TV Connect first launched 11 years ago under the name IPTV World Forum and since then the event, and the connected TV market in general, has grown rapidly, said Jones, citing “constant innovation” in the space.

“Sincere congratulations to everyone who managed to impress our distinguished judges, and thanks to those judges, as well as the sponsors, and everyone else that makes tonight possible,” she added.
