Netflix rebooting retro comedy Full House
Having relaunched Arrested Development, Netflix is moving ahead with another comedy reboot with a new version of Full House.
The original series ran for eight seasons and almost 200 episodes on US broadcast network ABC in the 1980s and 1990s. It follows a widowed father, his best friend and brother in-law as they raise a family of three daughters.
Fuller House will feature several of the original cast and run to 13 episodes. In the new series, family and friends again rally around to look after the next generation’s kids.
The original was produced by Lorimar Television, the prodco acquired by Warner Bros (then Warner Communications), and Boyett Productions and Jeff Franklin Productions.
Warner Bros.’s production unit Warner Horizon will produce the new series alongside Boyett and Jeff Franklin. Fuller House will debut on Netflix in 2016.
