Tesco sells Blinkbox Music to Guvera
Tesco has sold Blinkbox Music to Australia-based music streaming service Guvera, less than a month after it agreed to sell its Blinkbox movie and TV service to TalkTalk.
Tesco bought music streaming service We7 in 2012, rebranding the asset to Blinkbox Music as part of its broader digital offering. The service currently claims 2.5 million registered users of the Blinkbox Music app and serves around 100 million music streams a month.
Guvera is currently available in 20 markets worldwide, including Australia, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, Philippines, Russia, Saudi Arabia and the US. In March 2014 Guvera became Chinese manufacturer Lenovo’s worldwide music partner.
