RR Media makes executive hires

Digital media services firm RR Media has expanded its European team with the appointments of a new technical director, chief engineer and director of sales. 

Technical director Gary Finnerty has 18 years experience in the playout and VOD industry and joins from Encompass Digital Media.

Chief engineer Darryl Huxley brings experience in HD film restoration, editing, archiving and workflow design and has previously worked at Deluxe Digital, Gearbox and Octagon TV.

Director of sales Andrea Winn has 20 years experience in the media and broadcast distribution industry, and has previously held sales director positions at BT Broadcast Services, the BBC and Ericsson Broadcast Services.

Together, the three hires will be responsible for driving RR Media’s expansion of its media services platform in Europe for effective content preparation, management and distribution, converging broadcast and online video.

RR Media was formerly known as RRsat and is still in the process of changing its name from RRsat Global Communications Network.
