New chief executive for C More
TV4 Group-owned Swedish pay TV channel provider C More has named former Modern Times Group and SBS executive Manfred Aronsson as its new CEO.
Aronsson, who will take over at C More on August 18, replaces Johan Kleberg, whol is taking a role within the Bonnier Group that controls TV4, as CEO of book retailer Adlibris Group.
Aronsson was CEO of MTG Sweden from 2008-12 and has also served as CEO of Kanal 5 and chairman of C More’s predecessor company Canal+.
Aronsson said he was looking forward to coming back to C More. He said his mission would be to find the best way to create the best future for the company’s strong sports, movies and series catalogue and acknowledged that C More has been under pressure in the Norwegian and Danish markets particularly.
As part of the restructuring of TV4 Group announced at the end of last year, Kleberg had been set to take over as content director at group level when a new CEO for C More was appointed, working alongside channels director Peter Lindström. However, his new role at Adlibris means that TV4 will now recruit a new content director.
