BT Sport confirms Chromecast launch

BT Sport is due to launch as a content partner for Google’s Chromecast HDMI streaming stick in the UK on Monday, BT confirmed today.

The move will let BT broadband customers with a Chromecast stick access the BT Sport app from their TV, with Google’s ‘cast’ button due appear in the BT Sport app on Android and iOS devices from next week.

“This helps us to deliver on our aim to bring the best quality sport to BT customers at affordable prices across a wide number of platforms and devices,” said Pete Oliver, BT’s managing director for consumer commercial and marketing.

News of BT’s planned Chromecast launch first leaked earlier this week.
