BT Sport eyes UK Chromecast launch
BT is reportedly planning to make its BT Sport channels available via Google’s recently launched Chromecast HDMI streaming stick in the UK.
According to a Financial Times report, which cites BT consumer chief executive John Petter, the sport channels will be available on the device to BT broadband subscribers.
Currently BT Sport customers can access the channels online and via apps for iOS and Android devices.
Though the plans have not been formerly announced, BT said that it working together with Google to ensure that the Chromecast is compatible with all BT Broadband products and services and said it keeps a “close eye on technology trends and are keen to ensure that the BT Sport App is compatible with any device that becomes really popular.”
A spokesperson for the corporation told DTVE: “BT Sport is not currently available via Chromecast, we think it is an exciting innovation, but cannot give any further information at the moment.”
