Motive TV begins South African implementation


Hybrid TV technology specialist Motive TV’s services unit has begun the installation of its Content Express platform in South Africa following it deal with Siyaya Free to Air TV for the Sentech-owned FreeVision DTH platform.

Motive’s headend software will enable Siyaya services to be launched on the FreeVision satellite platform.
Motive said it is currently negotiating a SDK licence agreement with Chinese set-top manufacturer Skyworth, which will be supplying set-top boxes for Siyaya.

“We are pleased to have commenced this major project in support of Siyaya, and also our cooperation with Skyworth.  Motive has assisted Siyaya for the past year in plans for their DTH satellite and DTT services, and looks forward to a successful launch of this major platform in South Africa,” said Motive Television CEO Len Fertig.

“We welcome the partnership with Skyworth on this project, and anticipate that Motive’s progress in South Africa will serve as the gateway to further substantial opportunities across Africa.”
