Netflix: UHDTV needs standardisation of formats

Netflix sees ultra-high definition TV as a great opportunity but believes there is a need to limit the number of technical variations of content for UHDTV platforms through greater standardisation, according to Kevin McEntee, responsible for digital supply chain at the online TV company.

Speaking at the EBU Production Technology Seminar in Geneva yesterday, McEntee said there is a need to limit the number of technical versions of content for UHDTV and called for a standards-based distribution formats.
