ProSiebenSat.1 buys German music site Songtexte.com

ProSiebenSat.1 has acquired online song lyric and music news portal Songtexte.com in a bid to bolster its music streaming service Ampya. 

ProSiebenSat.1 said that the platform will remain separate, but Ampya customers will benefit from being able to access music lyrics, getting extra value from the service.

Describing the “mutual synergies” of the agreement, the German media giant said its in-house marketing arm SevenOne Media would promote Songtexte.com.

Songtexte.com, an independent German music portal, claims to have 2.61 million unique users.

ProSiebenSat.1’s digital arm launched Ampya in June. The service offers 20 million songs and music videos, 100,000 radio stations and an independent news portal with daily music news.
