EBU to host new workship on ultra HD

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) is to host a workshop on ultra high-definition TV in Geneva next month to define potential roadmaps for the development of the technology by different stakeholders.

The workshop, to be held on November 25-26, titled UHDTV: Voices & Choices, will also highlight the results of tests carried out since the last event hosted by the EBU on UHDTV in May.

The EBU has emphasized that an immersive experience for viewers needs to include higher frame rantes, a higher dynamic range and a wideer range of colours as well as increased resolution.
