Sky Deutschland and Samsung to promote ultra-HD

Sky Deutschland has teamed up with Samsung to market ultra-HD TV.

Sky Deutschland CEO Brian Sullivan told Reuters that Sky’s ultra-HD offering is expected to launch in the next 18-24 months. However, he said Sky would trail the service with promotional video content on Samsung devices before Christmas.

At IBC last week Sky Deutschland chief technology officer Gerry Duffy told journalists that the operator was planning a next-generation set-top that would be ultra-HD enabled.
