NetCologne advances fibre penetration, grows TV base
German hybrid network operator NetCologne now serves over a third of its customers via its own fibre network. The Cologne area operator had 139,000 fibre customers at the end of last year, up 16,000 year-on-year, out of a total fixed line customer base of 381,000.
NetCologne grew its TV subscriber base last year by 12,000 to end the year with about 200,000 TV homes.
Over 45,000 apartment buildings, homes and business premises are now reached by NetCologne’s own broadband network, up from 41,000 a year earlier.
The operator has also signed a series of partnership agreement with municipalities, cities and utilities, recently beginning work in Wesseling, Frechen and Pulheim, with plans to expand in Windeck, Siegburg, Burscheid, Betzdorf and Niederkassel.
NetCologne reported net income of €15.8 million on sales of €242 million. Operating profit for the full year grew by 7.6% to €56.9 million.
