Netflix trumps LoveFilm of TV series, but loses out on movies

New research comparing the number of TV series and movies on Netflix and Lovefilm reveals the former has a much deeper selection of TV available for streaming content while the later has considerably more movies.

The research compares the numbers of movie titles and seasons of TV shows available on the UK services of Netflix and LoveFilm Instant.

It reveals that Netflix had 925 TV seasons compared with LoveFilm’s 589. Of the totals, 210 were available across both services.

LoveFilm, meanwhile, offers 3,284 film titles compared with 1,668 at Netflix. There were 260 movies available across both.

The data was compiled by Oric, a UK website that directs users to other destinations where they can legally stream TV and film content.
