SES Broadband to provide reduced rates for ESA partners
SES has struck an agreement with the European Space Agency (ESA) to support innovation in satellite broadband, with SES Broadband Services to offer a range of offerings as special rates to industry participants in ESA’s ARTES Applications Projects scheme.
The ARTES (Advanced Research in Telecommunications Systems) initiative seeks to enhance the competitiveness of European industry by promoting the use of satellites in such functions as broadcasting, multimedia and mobile communications, data relay, search and rescue, and aviation services.
Participants will be able to benefit from special rates for SES services on the pan-European and Middle East beams of the Astra-3B satellite at 23.5° East and the sub-Saharan African beam of the Astra-4A satellite at 5° East.
