Smart TV and 3D TV sales expected to grow next year

Sales of 3D TVs are expected to increase 100% in the 10 European countries covered in a new report by market researcher GfK and the German consumer electronics association the GFU.

The new research predicts sales of 3D TVs in those markets will reach 10 million this year, rising to 12.45 million in 2013.

Sales of Smart TVs are expected to reach 13 million this year, an increase of 30%. The report predicts that sales will increase to 16 million in 2013.

Revenue from the sale of TVs in the 10 markets will reach €21 billion this year, according to the research.
