Strong results for Telenet
Belgian cable operator Telenet pulled in 22,800 new triple-play net additions in the third quarter, representing its strongest growth since the fourth quarter of 2009, the company said.
Telenet won 24,000 net new subscribers for broadband internet in the third quarter, up 31% year-on-year, 28,600 for fixed telephony, up 71% and 64,100 for digital TV, up 48%.
Telenet recorded 65,500 net new mobile subscribers in the third quarter, attracted by its new King and Kong rate plans.
The operator posted revenues of €1,094.3 million for the nine months to September, up 8% year-on-year, driven by continued RGU growth, a growing contribution from its mobile business, higher handset sales and selective price increases, though with growth slowing somewhat to 6% year-on-year in the third quarter.
Adjusted EBITDA was up 9% year-on-year to €589.2 million, with an underlying margin of 53.8%.
