Eutelsat condemns Iranian jamming
Satellite operator Eutelsat has condemned the jamming of certain broadcasts from Iran.
Following what Eutelsat claims to be “significant deliberate interference from Iran since October 3 of international networks, including BBC Persian, the Voice of America’s Persian service and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty’s Radio Farda”, all of which broadcast via Eutelsat satellites, the operator has called for decisive action from international regulators. It has asked the ANFR, France’s national frequency agency, to renew its objection to jamming to the International Telecommunications Union so that it can be “addressed as a priority”.
