Rostelecom grows TV base and revenues

Russian telco and cable operator Rostelecom grew its TV subscriber base to 6.2 million at the end of June, including one million IPTV subscribers. The overall TV base was up 10% year-on-year.

Rostelecom’s second quarter net profit grew 3% year-on-year to RUB8.77 billion (€216 million) on revenues of RUB75.5 billion, up 6%. Revenue from pay TV services amounted to RUB2.14 billion, up from RUB1.8 billion a year earlier.

Broadband revenues were also up significantly. However, the company was hit by a decline in fixed phone revenues.
