SES claims HD leadership

Over a quarter of TV channels broadcast via SES satellites are HD channels, the operator said today.

SES delivers 5,200 channels, of which over 1,300 are HD channels. The operator said it broadcasts more HD channels than its two main competitors combined.

Out of the total HD channels that SES distributes, over 920 are in North America, 297 are in Europe and 105 are in Asia, Latin America, Middle East and Africa.
