Humax’s YouView box goes on sale tomorrow

Set-top provider Humax’s new YouView box, the DTR-T1000, will go in sale in UK stores tomorrow.

The box, the first YouView-enable device on the market, which be priced at around £299 (€383), will be available from major retailers including John Lewis, Currys, Amazon, Comet and Argos, as well as independents including Euronics group and Richer Sounds.

The DTR-T1000 is a hybrid digital-terrestrial/IP set-top that includes a 15-EPG that allows viewers to scroll backwards to view catch-up content, including BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, 4oD and Demand 5, live pause and rewind, recording capabilities including split recording, green button trailer booking and series linking, and a 500GB hard drive to store up to 300 hours of standard definition and 125 hours of HD programming.
