European pay DTT revenues will top US$2 billion in five years

Cumulative revenues from Western Europe’s pay digital terrestrial TV services will top US$2 billion (€1.5 billion) by 2016, according to new research from Informa Telecoms & Media.

Its data shows that pay DTT generated US$1.4 billion across the region last year and that will steadily increase, reaching 2.1 billion in 2016. The total in Eastern Europe, meanwhile, will be significantly lower. Revenues last year totalled US$40 million and will reach US$59 billion by 2016.
