UPC Hungary to acquire local operator

UPC Hungary has received regulatory approval to acquire local cable operator RubiCom.

The country’s Competition Authority has given the green light for the Liberty Global operator to buy RubiCom, which delivers services to around 100,000 households.

UPC plans to upgrade the network and hopes to offer a full digital offering, including up to 120Mbps broadband, from May.
