Sky Atlantic given May launch date for Germany

Sky Deutschland will launch a local version of US drama network Sky Atlantic HD in May.

The pay TV operator has signed an output deal with HBO that will see the latest series of hit dramas including Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire along with older titles including The Sopranos, Entourage and The Wire being made available to German and Austrian customers.

Sky Atlantic HD will be available exclusively on Sky’s DTH platform and via its online services Sky Anytime and Sky Go. Sky is yet to announce the price of the channel.

Sky’s UK counterpart BSkyB launched Sky Atlantic on its platform last February.
