Sundance Channel launching on Liberty Global CEE platforms

AMC/Sundance Channel Global is to launch across eastern Europe and has struck a number of deal extensions in western Europe.

The international broadcaster is to launch via Liberty Global’s satellite pay TV platform Focus Sat in Romania and cable operator UPC in Hungary. This comes after a deal last year to launch via Liberty Global’s UPC DTH service in Hungary as well as the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Separately, Sundance has struck a deal extension with Telenet in Belgium that will see its channel expand from Brussels to the Flemish part of the country.

“This growing, multi-faceted relationship with Liberty Global reflects the burgeoning demand for Sundance Channel’s high quality film and series content, including key hits such as Mad Men and the Walking Dead, as well as the illustrious Sundance brand,” said Bruce Tuchman, president of AMC/Sundance Channel Global.
