Iran launches new channels

Iran is set to launch eight new thematic television channels after the The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) approved the plans.

IRIB chief Ezzatollah Zarghami announced it would launch new channels covering entertainment, news and science. This follows the launch of the country’s first home shopping channel, which launched earlier this year.
