Mediaset sees growth in pay TV

Revenues from Italian broadcaster Mediaset’s pay TV business increased by 16.5% in the first nine months of the year.

Mediaset Premium generated revenues of €449.2 million in the period to September 30, compared to €385.5 million in the corresponding period last year. The number of Easy pay subscribers has also passed the two million mark, Mediaset said.

The broadcaster reported a profit of €166.6 million in the first three months of the year, down 13% year-on-year from total net revenues of €3 billion, which was roughly in line with the first nine months of 2010.
