Portugal kicks off switchover awareness campaign

Portuguese regulator Anacom is to distribute a 12-page guide to digital-terrestrial TV to all households in the country within the next month.

The regulator plans to distribute some six million copies of the guide ahead of the country’s digital switchover, which will begin on January 12 in the country’s coastal region, followed by the Azores and Madeira on March 22 and the interior of mainland Portugal on April 26.

Portugal has already piloted switchover in three areas – Alenquer, Cacém and Nazaré/Alcobaça.
