NDS provides technology for Sky Deutschland Anytime service

Conditional access and interactive TV technology company NDS is providing the technology behind Sky Deutschland’s new Sky Anytime service, which will be made available to all Sky Plus DTH subscribers later this year.

Sky Anytime, supported by NDS MediaHighway set-top software, provides Sky Plus customers with on-demand content, including selected movies from their subscribed film packages as well as entertainment and sport programmes. A selection of content is pushed onto the Sky Plus DVR’s hard disk overnight, making use of broadcast bandwidth, the majority of which is available in HD. Accordingly each day a new selection of content is available through the Sky Anytime service for instant playback, including the latest blockbuster releases from Sky Select.
