KDG extends high-speed access
German cable operator Kabel Deutschland (KDG) has extended its high-speed internet offering to an additional 300,000 homes in Bad Kreuznach, Bamberg, Bremerhaven, Erlangen and Lueneburg and surrounding towns.
Subscribers in these cities will now have access to 100Mbps services. The latest upgrades take the operator’s high-speed coverage to 7.5 million homes in total
KDG is also reportedly introducing new pay TV packages for new customers, replacing its existing Kabel Digital Home and Kabel Digital Home HD offerings. The new standard offering, Kabel Premium HD, will include 13th Street Universal HD, Fox HD, National Geographic Channel HD, Planet HD, Sport1 Plus HD, Syfy HD, TNT Film HD and TNT Serie HD. KDG has also added HD channels from ProSiebenSat.1 to its offering, though it has yet to strike a deal with RTL.
The standard-definition channels formerly included in Kabel Digital Home HD will be offered in a Premium Extra package, available for a reported €5 extra.
