Cartoon Network launching UK HD channel

Turner Broadcasting is launching a high definition version of its kids channel Cartoon Network.

The Cartoon Network HD service will roll out on the BSkyB pay TV platform in the UK on September 14. It marks the first HD channel launch from Turner in the UK.

Shows that will be transmitted in HD include Ben 10: Ultimate Alien and The Amazing World of Gumball, the animated sitcom from the European Cartoon Network development studio.
