Fox International Channels names European chiefs
Fox International Channels has promoted two of its key European executives, Jesus Perezagua and Jason Thorp. Jesus Perezagua will become president, Fox International Channels Europe & Africa, adding 15 channels in the UK and Africa to his oversight.
He will report to Hernan Lopez, chief executive, Fox International Channels and National Geographic Channels International. Jason Thorp, who was previously managing director, Fox International Channels UK and Africa, will become executive vice president, content, Fox International Channels Europe & Africa. He will relocate from London to Rome and will oversee the company’s pan European programme acquisitions, production and strategy.
“Owning our content is crucial in growing the FIC business and we now have real scale to bring to bear in that respect. A unified approach across Europe will give us the clout we need to make a big difference quickly,” said Thorp.
Fox International Channels has had recent success with its international roll out of zombie drama The Walking Dead and just announced the second season of the series will launch on October 17, one day after its debut on US cable network AMC. The show will launch on Fox channels in 122 countries.
