ProSiebenSat.1 hires former Bavarian PM in advisory capacity

Germany-based broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 has hired former Bavarian prime minister Edmund Stoiber as chairman of its advisory board.

The board will advise the broadcaster on social and media policy issues at a time when ProSiebenSat.1 CEO Thomas Ebeling is calling for an end to what he calls unfair competition from public broadcasters ARD and ZDF. Stoiber, a member of the right-wing CSU party, served as Bavaria’s prime minister for 14 years until 2007.
