ADB launches new set-back receiver

Set-top vendor ADB has launched a new “set-back” device that can be mounted onto the back of any flat screen TV and be operated by the TV remote control.

The Phantom is a HD box with a pre-integrated OCAP software stack that supports third-party applications, including EPG, pay-per-view and video-on-demand services and switched digital video. Using ADB’s DVR-Lite technology, the Phantom offers pause TV, time-shift and recording on its solid-state memory. Users can expand the recording capacity with eSATA storage or SDHC cards. Using its MoCA technology, the Phantom can share content with certified DLNA products, including TVs, set-tops, gaming devices and smart phones.

ADB is launching the device at The Cable Show in Chicago this week.
