Star TV gains Dutch distribution with UPC


Indian general entertainment channel Star TV has expanded its reach in Europe after striking a deal with Dutch cable operator UPC Netherlands.

The Hindi-language channel launched this month on the cable platform, which follows recent launches in the country on cable and IPTV services Caiway and Glashart.

“Holland is home to the second largest Hindi speaking population after the UK in Europe and we’re delighted to partner with leading cable operator UPC to reach this significant market,” said Yeshpal Sharma, head of Star’s UK and European business.
