HBO hires Czech and Slovakian country managers

HBO Central Europe has appointed Ivan Sevcik country manager for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Sevcik joins from media company Axel Springer where he was chairman of the board of Axel Springer Praha. He will join HBO CE this week and will oversee HBO’s channels in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Linda Jensen remains chief executive of HBO CE.

The central and eastern European arm of the US cable channel operator also said it has upped programming executive Ondrej Zach. He is now senior vice-president, programming and acquisitions for HBO CE and responsible for acquiring and scheduling programming across the company’s 14-country footprint. Zach also retains the executive director, HBO Czech Republic, title.
