KPN names Blok as new CEO

Dutch telecom operator KPN has named Eelco Blok as its new CEO.

Blok has held various management positions with the telco, joining the board of directors in 2004. He will serve as chief operating officer for an interim period until April 2011 before taking over from the current CEO, Ad Scheepbouwer.

KPN chairman Jos Streppel said that Blok’s skills were perfectly matched to the strategy that the operator wanted to pursue.
